Saskatoon,Saskatchewan

WHEAT Institute, Saskatchewan, is located on Treaty 6 Territory, the original lands of nehiyawak and the homeland of the Métis Nation. We respect the Treaties that were made on these territories. We acknowledge the harms and mistakes in the breaking of these commitments, resulting in the tragedy of the genocide of Indigenous peoples. We dedicate ourselves to moving forward in partnership with Indigenous peoples and communities in a spirit of humility, consultation, and collaboration to support the Indigenous resurgence.

Land of the Living Skies

WHEAT (Winnipeg Hollistic Expressive Art Therapy Institute) is thrilled to have expanded to Manitoba's Western neighboring province, Saskatchwan, known as the Land of the Living Skies due to the breathtaking sunrises, sunsets and cloud formations. In 2020, WHEAT is offering a diploma and certificate in one of Canada's sunniest spots, Saskatoon, which averages 2,381 hours of sunshine per year. Saskatoon is named after a  Cree word, mis-sask-quah-toomina, after a wild, sweet berry. Saskatoon is also the location of the World's Largest Snowball Fight, the perfect activity for a city that embraces its winter season to the fullest. Saskatoon has a thriving and eclectic culinary scene, with the highest number of restaurants per capita in Canada.

Ancient Spirals Retreat

Ten minutes south of Saskatoon you will find the Ancient Spirals Retreat Centre, a 2,109 sq. foot retreat located on 30 acres of rolling hills on the banks of the historic South Saskatchewan river. Many relations frequent the area, including deer, rabbits, ground squirrels, geese, ducks, hawks, owls and indigenous natural flora. You'll also find the odd herd of cattle drinking at the river's edge, a group of fine horses on the neighboring land and of course, a whole host of delicious Saskatoon berries! This retreat will immerse you with inimitable sunsets displayed in panorama and a  complete circumference view of the horizon from its highest hilltop. The Ancient Spirals Retreat is the epitome of tranquility, the perfect place to explore your inner self and develop your professional skills.

Amenities at the retreat include scenic trails to the Saskatchewan river, a sweat lodge area, a labyrinth and a tipi.
