Happy Holidays from WHEAT

Holiday Greetings to You!

The team at WHEAT is sending you warm thoughts of care, creativity, and belonging this holiday season as blizzards roar, lakes freeze over, and snow drifts form. We are so grateful to have been able to learn and grow with you this year, and we are looking forward to a bright year of hope and possibility ahead.

WHEAT is dedicated to a holistic approach to education and healing that activates creativity and connection as catalysts for learning and growth. At a time of significant change, our organization is engaged in a process to clarify our values, purpose, and structure, as we continue to evolve as an organization dedicated to personal transformation and social justice.

WHEAT is restructuring to become a non-profit, governed by a team of dedicated volunteers and directors, to help us augment our deep sense of responsibility to our community and allow for an even greater commitment to diversity and inclusion at our school. Please join us in welcoming Dianne Shannon, Art Therapy Program Director; Lindsay Ashmore, Expressive Arts Therapy Program Director and Indigenous Community Outreach; and Bonface Beti, International Expressive Arts Director, and learn more about our growing circle of care on our Faculty page HERE

We would also like to introduce you to PowHERhouse, a bridge organization of Indigenous and non-Indigenous leaders with diverse ancestral backgrounds. They will be walking beside us through this meaningful transition. Here is the announcement that outlines our relationship. We hope you will feel as engaged and gently supported by them as we do. We have felt nourished and cared for in our developing connection with their team.

It has been an important year, and we welcome the rest, relaxed pace, and possibility of time away.

In a season that holds an open heart, we wish you Happy Holidays! May the season be healing and inspiring, and fill you with delight!

Our office will be closed December 23, 2022 - January 3, 2023 for the holiday break. We look forward to seeing you again in the New Year.

Love and peace from all of us at WHEAT
